چکیده

Mining plays an important role in Kenyan Economic development through provision of employment, raw materials as well foreign income. Despite the played by this sector, it is associated with land degradation, impacting food security. Closure mines calls for rehabilitation process establishment native trees, grass or crops. In order to promote crop production a reclamation measure, performance sorghum post mined soils was evaluated south dune site base titanium limited Kwale Company. The experiments were laid down Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) split plot arrangement and replicated thrice. Fertilizer, Manure, Manure + Control (unfertilized) Gadam Silla varieties tested. Data collected included: Initial soil properties, plant height, number leaves, leaf length, width, stem circumference, panicle circumference grain yield per hectare. subjected analysis variance using Genstat software means separated Fisher’s protected least significant difference at (P≤0.05). slightly acidic low levels exchangeable P, K, S, Cu Bn. fertilizer significantly (P≤0.05) increased height 14% (gadam), 28% (silla), leaves (gadam) 29% length 18% 8% dry matter 30% 40% (silla) 50% both gadam silla compared control plots varieties. Wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) Growth and Yield as Influenced by Flooding and Salinity Stresses in Northern Iran

Salinity and flooding are as two very important factors of soil degradation. They often occur together and cancause severe damage to plants. However, plant response to environmental stresses may vary with growth stage atwhich exposure occurs. A pot study was conducted in 2005-2006 in northern Aq Qala (northern Iran) to studycombine effects of waterlogging and soil salinity at different growth s...
